Kite Surf Wetsuits

A kitesurf wetsuit is an essential part of a rider's arsenal. The weather can get very demanding out on the open water and the rider needs to be protected. Kitesurf wetsuits need to be built tough, specifically for a sport where you will be jumping and crashing into the water. But what should you be looking for in kitesurf wetsuits to make sure you are buying the best possible suit for your money?

First of all, it is not a good idea to buy secondhand kitesurf wetsuits, the lifespan of a brand new wetsuit is relatively short and a used wetsuit will really not be worth the investment.

You may want to consider dry-suits instead of kitesurf wetsuits. Dry-suits have a longer lifespan and are seen as more durable. The dry suit is designed to be looser on the body and lightweight, perfect for the physical sport where you will be constantly twisting and turning your body. The dry suit offers better protection from the cold and it can even be put on over your jeans if you are coming straight from the office, or you can layer some fleece clothing underneath.

Make sure kitesurf wetsuits have at least the chest and arms covered in quick dry rubber that does not absorb the water. Without this you will feel the wind chill and that will bring you out of the water sooner.

Look at kitesurf wetsuits with the option of a detachable hood. This option is useful if you do or don't want to wear a helmet in cold temperatures.

When you look at kitesurf wetsuits and dry suits, think about how easy you are going to find it getting in and out. This may not seem like that much of a consideration, but over time, the wrong type of wetsuit will make the process unpleasant. Look at kitesurf wetsuits that have back, front or top entry points. Explore the different brands and do not hesitate to seek additional professional advice.
